This was 1 of the 3 participations from Media Selectah as part of  LIVE PERFORMERS MEETING México 2013.
S.O.S Live Cinema is a multimedia art project that consists in creating an audiovisual piece insitu through the realtime improvisation of music and visuals that interact in different ways, and suddenly create an AV conversation between ideas and feelings.
It was premiered at the patio central of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey MARCO, and recently presented for the Medi@rte Festival 9.0 in the Teatro del Centro de las Artes, in Monterrey, México. It was specially featured in The Creators Project (Vice / Intel) GALLERY online.

Do we look for signs or do they find us?
Signs are in everything that is alive, everywhere.
But what signs do we see? What signals do we receive?
Are we in tune?
S.O.S Live Cinema is a multimedia art project that consists in creating an audiovisual piece in situ through the realtime improvisation of music and visuals that interact in different ways, and suddenly create an AV conversation between ideas and feelings.
S.O.S. is divided in 4 sessions, in which VjThai explores different experimental approaches to realtime videocreation through feestyle. Using videoclips or video loops made with different processes, as the basic elements for the live visual composition.
Many feelings and ideas are evoked in a sinesthetic language that alouds for each individual to have a different experience, and therefore a different interpretation, making their own connections, opening a space/time for contemplation.
VjThai creates live video performance from her video recordings, 2D animations, photographs, edits, investigations, loops, found footage and samplings.

Como un tributo al DUB, ROOTS, REGGAE y la cultura de la buena música, se establecieron las noches de DUB CLUB en la ciudad de Monterrey presentadas y realizadas de forma independiente por el colectivo de diseñadores audiovisuales SLSS (Sistema Local Sonoro Colectivo).
Noches en las que Toy Selectah, King Ruly (Chico Sonido), Bashmeister (Dr. Ruddz) o Dj Yesca pincharon sus colecciones de viniles, con fusiones y rarezas de ritmos Funk, Downtempo, Eclectic Breakbeats, Reggae, Cosmic Dub, Intercontinental Rythms, Raregrooves, TripHop, Brokenbeats, Electro, Dubstep.
Haciendo de estas las fiestas/happennings más memorables, en donde se dieron las fusiones de música, visuales, diseño, arte, y baile, en diferentes lugares de Monterrey.
La propuesta audiovisual era única en Mty, en donde las selecciones musicales estaban visualizadas por Vj Thai en vivo, quien se encargarÃa siempre de disparar videos non stop en tiempo real como grabaciones personales, sampleos, bootlegs, etc.
Preparando cada sesión con una selección de videos para crear la sensación del videotrack de la música de la noche, momento a momento. De esta forma se experimenta con las visualizaciones en vivo, creando e improvisando mezclas completamente originales e irrepetibles.
Asà se convierte en una expresión efÃmera, ya que no queda grabada en su momento más que en la mente de los que se vieron estimulados audiovisualmente esa noche.

Live Performance for me has the quality of ever changing its form, it depends on the music, the artist, the place, the projections, and the public, and the combination of them always give different results.
This video is the only memory of that Audio Visual perfect moment of creation of live videoart through improvisation and combinations of videoclips of my creation, that seem to fit perfectly with the music around many issues that were awakening in my mind through various years of the exploration of video without any boundaries.
Using my video recordings of nature, vintage documentaries on the human body, refractions and reflections and live camera, to try to create this connections on all levels from a micro and macro dimensions, levels of meaning in a mixture of science and transcendence.
I had been working with Sistema Local (SLSS) crew and Dj Yesca for a long time through different multimedia projects and happenings. As they explored into the deepest hard to find vinyl records for an eclectic sound, Yesca and I explored the visual side of music through design and moving image. It all happened so natural that with them having hours of spinning records, Â I had hours of live visualizations, and as the djs changed, I kept on going and had to improvised through different styles without ever knowing what could sound next.
This performance had place in ZONA LOUNGE, as part of the FORUM activities in the city of Monterrey. The visuals were seen by a few in 8 proyections of 3×4 meters distributed around the place. It is an industrial warehouse where there use to be a fabric of steel, and now there is a park area called Parque Fundidora.The place was transformed for this FORUM event, and it existed only 4 months, 2007.

Este video es un edit del tributo de Sistema Local Sonoro Selectivo (SLSS) a la música DUB & REGGAE.
Surge de una exploración y mezcla análoga de material audiovisual, fotos, vhs, documentales, conciertos, flyers recolectados por el SLSS.
La mezcla visual original la hizo Ariel (DjYesca) haciendo loops de VHS a VHS, todo en tributo a la cultura musical jamaiquina, su raÃces, soundsystems y dancehalls.
Asi Ariel y Thai como Coaxial, comienzan a visualizar los encuentros del colectivo del Sistema Local (SLSS) con aparatos análogos., cargando cajas de VHS, videocaseteras, proyectores, improvisando, experimentando… back in the day 1999.
El remix digital lo hizo VjThai, recuperando asà un clásico del Sistema Local (SLSS).
Mucho de este material fue presentado en las tocadas de SLSS como soundsystem, en diferentes lugares de México y en Colombia en el Festival de Rock Al Parque.
